The game takes place before the events of Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage. The main artist for the Samurai Shodown 64 series and Samurai Shodown: Warriors Rage, Senri Kita, returns for official illustrations.
Loosely following the story of the graphic novels, up to four players can play as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Kim Pine or Stephen Stills, who must battle through seven levels in order to defeat Ramona’s seven evil exes.
