Set hundreds of years after the events of Wrath of the White Witch, Revenant Kingdom features the cat and mouse tribes, two warring factions in the town of Ding Dong Dell. During the events of the game, the mouse tribe performed a coup d’état, taking control of the kingdom.

Ni no Kuni revolves around Oliver, a resident of Motorville, whose mother Alicia dies from heart problems after rescuing him from drowning. As Oliver cries, his tears cause his doll, a gift from Alicia, to reveal itself as a male fairy named Drippy.
