In the game, a pandemic that spreads on Black Friday causes the United States Government to collapse in five days; basic services fail one by one, and without access to food or water, the country quickly descends into chaos.

Captain Scott Mitchell commands the fictitious elite Ghost Recon team in an attempt to protect the U.S. and Mexican Presidents, recover stolen U.S. technology, and battle the rebellious Mexican forces.
