The story is inspired by the apocryphal Book of Enoch, and follows Enoch, a scribe seeking seven fallen angels to prevent a great flood from destroying mankind. He is helped in his quest by Lucifel, a guardian angel in charge of the protection of the world who exists outside of the flow of time, and four Archangels.

In the fictional land of Albion, five hundred years after Fable’s original setting, in a colonial era resembling the time of highwaymen or the Enlightenment. One may choose to be either male or female, while also choosing a character’s sexuality, allowing for marriage and sexual liaisons with male and female NPCs.

The old monarch, the hero of Fable II, has died and left the Kingdom of Albion to Logan, the player’s older brother. Some characters allude to how Logan has “changed” in the last four years, and is excessively tyrannical now.
On his sister’s birthday, a young boy’s village of Oakvale is raided by bandits; apparently killing the boy’s entire family. An old Hero, Maze, rescues the boy, seeing great potential in him; Maze trains the boy to become a Hero at the Heroes’ Guild.
In the year 2277, 36 years after the setting of Fallout 2 and 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse that devastated the game’s world in a future where international conflicts culminated in a Sino-American war in the second half of the 21st century. An inhabitant of Vault 101, a survival shelter the size of a village, designed to protect a small number of humans from the nuclear fallout, is forced to escape from the Vault and journey into the ruins of Washington D.C. to track his father who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Fallout 4 takes place 200 years after a war over resources that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077 – roughly the same time as the events of Fallout 3. The setting is a post-apocalyptic retro-future, covering a region that includes Boston, Massachusetts and other parts of New England known as the Commonwealth.
