Wipeout 2048 is set in the near future, and relative to previous games, takes place much earlier in the Wipeout timeline, as the new sport of anti-gravity racing is beginning to emerge, making it a prequel.

The player pilots an anti-gravity craft, selected from one of several teams and, depending on the game mode, competes using speed and weaponry in an attempt to beat the competition.

Gravity ends as the race begins! The Futuristic anti-gravity combat racer returns! Rip through the air at breakneck speeds in adrenalin fueled races that are won or lost in the blink of an eye.
