Saints Row begins with the player in the fictional metropolitan city of Stilwater, based on cities such as Detroit and Chicago, in the middle of a gang war between several gang factions.

At the end of Saints Row, the protagonist was aboard Alderman Richard Hughes’ luxury yacht when a bomb exploded on the yacht leaving the fates of Hughes and The Protagonist unknown.

Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you.

Shortly after the fall of STAG, Pierce, Shaundi and the Boss are called upon to assist MI-6 agent Asha Odekar and her contact, former Deckers leader Matt Miller, in infiltrating a Middle Eastern compound to assassinate Cyrus Temple, the former leader of STAG who has since gone insane and obsessed with killing the Saints leader when his plan to frame the explosion of a statue on the Saints is ruined, and plans on destroying Washington, D.C. using a nuclear missile.

Five years after the events of the “Save Shaundi” ending in Saints Row: The Third, the leader of the Third Street Saints is elected President of the United States. It’s not long before an alien invasion occurs and the Protagonist and the Saints are kidnapped by aliens known as the Zin and their leader Zinyak.
