After destroying the Central Chimera Tower in London in 1951, Nathan Hale is extracted by SRPA (Special Research Projects Administration) soldiers in a VTOL aircraft, and is sedated. When they arrive at the Special Research Projects Administration (SRPA) “Igloo” Base in Iceland, they find it under attack by Chimera forces.

4 years after Operation: Black Eden, where the United States is now the only nation surviving against the Chimeran occupation and the dishonorable former SPRA soldier Joseph Capelli fled with Susan Farley, while Malikov discovered a cure from Hale’s blood as the Chimera begin to exterminate the human race.

The story begins with Tom Riley, along with Engine 174, driving through Staten Island. They arrive in a power station that is caught on fire. They enter the station and Tom is separated from his fellow firemen after accidentally falling into the lower levels of the station through a broken floor.

In the year 1951, with the protagonist, Sgt. Nathan Hale, on his way with a United States task force to retrieve a secret weapon that the British claim can be used against the Chimera. However, the force is quickly wiped out by a Chimeran spire attack, which infects all of the soldiers with the Chimeran virus, soon after landing in York.
