As with other games in The Elder Scrolls franchise, the game is set in the continent of Tamriel and features a storyline indirectly connected with the other games. The game is set a millennium before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and around 800 years before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, with the Daedric Prince Molag Bal appearing as the main antagonist as he attempts to meld the plane of Mundus with his realm of Coldharbour.
In 2016, a nuclear attack occurs in Saudi Arabia, killing six million people and crippling the supply of oil from the Middle East, plunging the world into an unprecedented energy crisis. The following year, the United States of America and the European Union sign the historic SLAMS (Space-Land-Air Missile Shield) Treaty, agreeing to co-develop technologies for a comprehensive, interlocking anti-ballistic missile system.
The game initially opens 2 days prior to the Banoi Island zombie outbreak, with the player controlling “Kilo Two”, a covert operative working with Dead Island protagonist Xian Mei to infiltrate a Geopharm facility on the island of Narapela and assassinate a mole.
The main character of The Evil Within is veteran police detective Sebastian “Seb” Castellanos. He is aided by his colleagues Juli “Kid” Kidman and Joseph Oda in confronting the invincible apparition Ruvik.

The game uses the camera to allow a virtual pet to interact with people and objects in the real world. Using augmented reality, the simian, gremlin-like creature appears to be aware of its environment and surroundings and reacts to them accordingly.

The story of F.E.A.R. is presented in such a way that only a few minor elements are presented in the game’s beginning, thus allowing players to experience the adventure as “… the hero[es] in [their] own spine-tingling epic of action, tension and terror”.

In the fictional land of Albion, five hundred years after Fable’s original setting, in a colonial era resembling the time of highwaymen or the Enlightenment. Guns are still primitive, and large castles and cities have developed in the place of towns. One may choose to be either male or female, while also choosing a character’s sexuality, allowing for marriage and sexual liaisons with male and female NPCs.
Set 50 years after the events of Fable II on the continent of Albion where the Fable II series is set. The old monarch, the hero of Fable II, has died and left the Kingdom of Albion to Logan, the player’s older brother. Some characters allude to how Logan has “changed” in the last four years, and is excessively tyrannical now.
On his sister’s birthday, a young boy’s village of Oakvale is raided by bandits; apparently killing the boy’s entire family. An old Hero, Maze, rescues the boy, seeing great potential in him; Maze trains the boy to become a Hero at the Heroes’ Guild. 
In the year 2277, 36 years after the setting of Fallout 2 and 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse that devastated the game’s world in a future where international conflicts culminated in a Sino-American war in the second half of the 21st century. An inhabitant of Vault 101, a survival shelter the size of a village, designed to protect a small number of humans from the nuclear fallout, is forced to escape from the Vault and journey into the ruins of Washington D.C. to track his father who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

While delivering a package with a platinum poker chip to New Vegas, The Courier is ambushed by Benny, the leader of the Chairmen, who steals the package, shoots The Courier in the head, and leaves The Courier’s body in a shallow grave. A robot named Victor eventually finds the body and brings it to Doctor Mitchell in Goodsprings.
The game starts off with the player given a mission to kill a 52-year-old famous arms dealer. People call him “The Jackal”. The player’s character lands in the northern territory of Leboa-Sako and is introduced to the harsh reality of life in the country.
Jason Brody, a tourist who has been stranded on an island chain in the grips of violent local conflict for years. Jason has been separated from his girlfriend and, in his search for her, developers have stated he will have to deal with a wide cast of mostly unstable characters who have been trapped on these islands for some time.
