Disgaea 4 follows the story of Valvatorez, a vampire who was once feared as a tyrant until he promised a woman 400 years ago that he would not drink blood until he could instil fear in her, and she died before he could do so.

The sixth home console entry to the legendary Disgaea series tells a tale of revenge, and of rebellion. As a new and terrible Overlord named Void Dark seeks to enslave the countless Netherworlds, one young demon has stood to end his reign-Killia.

Laharl has been crowned Overlord of his Netherworld and has taken his father’s place on the throne. However, the demons of his Netherworld do not respect him or his authority. A particular group of the late king’s former vassals, called the Krichevskoy Group, are trying to usurp him and put someone that they find to be a more suitable leader on the throne.
